After months of preparation, I am proud to announce that The Farm is officially accepting applications for our inaugural accelerator cohort here in Atlanta! This moment has been many months in the making, and our guiding principle remains a focus on the entrepreneur. The goal is to provide the support, mentorship and guidance needed for founders to scale ideas into impact.

As we move into our brand new space at The Battery, I’m imagining the energy when it’s filled with dreamers, doers, mentors and collaborators. If you’ve ever been in or around a tech accelerator, you know exactly how electric this can be. Our facilities here are a great reflection of the opportunities that await our successful applicants. The metro Atlanta area is a hub for tech innovation and disruptive thinking. Nowhere will this be more apparent than in The Farm’s new headquarters in The Battery.

In baseball, young players hoping to turn professional go through the farm leagues. Because our office has some incredible views of the Atlanta Braves’ new field, we thought calling ourselves ‘The Farm’ would be a great metaphor for our work here in developing young entrepreneurs.

Accelerator Teams

So what kinds of companies are we hoping to attract? For starters, we want companies who recognize that we are a place of learning, collaboration and empowerment. We want a wide diversity of thought, experience and demographics. Who you are and where you come from is a lot less important to us than what you’re doing and how you want to do it. Once you’re here, it’s our role to equip you with the tools, expertise and resources to help your company scale. We also are interested in startups that are in very early-stage internet, mobile and IoT. If you you have a tech solution to a problem, we want to hear from you.

My commitment to each founder participant is that we will always strive to create the best possible environment for you to succeed. Your success is our success, too. But in order to go on this journey together, we need you to first apply. And please don’t delay — the window to apply will only be open for a few weeks.

If I can be of any assistance, answer any questions or help you in any way, please contact me directly at burunda@thefarmatl.com. You can also follow us on Twitter at @TheFarmATL for more updates on what we’re up to here.
